| Info: | Located at Somerset this facility bears the indigenous name for the Southern Cross constellation. Situated high on the hill at Somerset overlooking the ocean and Table Cape it is hard to believe the waves are so far away. The design has captured the vista of the sea and many of the rooms have been sited to capture the best of the views. All of the rooms are single with an ensuite with many looking onto the extensive flat landscaped gardens. There are 81 rooms in all with a many high and low care sections which enables ageing in place and accommodation for couples on the same site. The rooms are tastefully furnished and residents are encouraged to personalise their room in their own style. Nearby cosy sitting rooms are stocked with tea and coffee making provisions for those wishing to entertain their family and friends. The warm friendly ambience is evidenced by the close involvement with the local community and Yaraandoo is seen as hub of activity in this seaside town. A wide range of activities is offered for those wishing to maintain current skills and interests or even develop new ones. The quality of the meals is a feature of this facility as the smaller size engenders a home like menu with local seasonal vegetables a feature. Catholic Mass is held every day in the peaceful chapel and regular services for other denominations are held. The dedicated membersd of the Auxillary run a well stocked kiosk providing everyday items as well as some little luxuries and gifts for purchase. There is often a raffle on the go right near the front door!
