Southern Cross Care Tasmania is proud to announce that Deputy Chair Caroline Wells has been appointed as the 30th Governor of Tasmania.

Caroline’s appointment is a distinguished honour, recognising her longstanding contribution to public life and her commitment to leadership, integrity and service. During her tenure with our organisation, Caroline has brought exceptional wisdom, compassion and governance expertise to her role as Deputy Chair, and we are incredibly proud to see her take on this prestigious constitutional role.

As Governor-designate, Caroline will begin preparations to formally assume office. In line with the responsibilities of the role, she will step down from all existing appointments, including her position on the SCCT Board at the end of May.

SCCT Chair Sonya Beyers said Caroline’s contribution has left a lasting impact on the organisation.

“While we will greatly miss Caroline’s counsel and presence around the Board table, we are incredibly proud to have had the opportunity to work alongside her and to celebrate this remarkable achievement.”

On behalf of the Board, Executive and the entire Southern Cross Care Tasmania community, we extend our warmest congratulations to Caroline Wells and wish her every success as she prepares to serve Tasmania in this important role.
