Lord Mayor of Hobart, Councillor Anna Reynolds visits Rosary Gardens Residential Care home
On ANZAC Day this year, Rosary Gardens Pastoral Carer Moana Muller sang the New Zealand National Anthem in Maori and English as part of the commemorative service at the Lenah Valley RSL. After the service, Ms Muller met with the Lord Mayor of Hobart, Councillor Anna Reynolds, and invited her to visit with the residents and staff of Rosary Gardens.
“I was asked to sing the New Zealand National Anthem at the 9.00 am ANZAC service at the Lenah Valley RSL, on ANZAC Day where I met the Lord Mayor,” Ms Muller said.
“The Lord Mayor asked me what I do for work, and I told her I work at Rosary Gardens home as a Pastoral Carer. I suggested to her that it will be nice for her to visit the residents and have afternoon tea with them”.
Ms Muller said the Lord Mayor was thrilled with the invitation.
“She was delighted to be asked and that she would like to come to visit our residents and to keep in contact with her.”
Rosary Gardens Acting Facility Manager Charmaine Carter was also thrilled with the visit.
“Our residents have been incredibly excited for the opportunity to meet with the Lord Mayor, and my thanks go out to Moana and the Lord Mayor for making this event possible,” said Ms Carter.
The Lord Mayor greeted staff and residents throughout the afternoon tea, circulating the Rosary Gardens Multipurpose room while attendees enjoyed tea and cake.
